About the destination

Verinag is a calm heritage stop in south Kashmir, centred on a deep blue spring enclosed by Mughal-era stonework and garden geometry. The destination is less about adventure and more about atmosphere: clear water, old chinar trees, mountain air, and a slower pause on the route toward Anantnag, Kokernag, or Jammu. It suits travellers who want history, photography, and a peaceful break between larger destinations. The spring is also traditionally associated with the source system of the Jhelum River.
