Nubra Valley

Nubra Valley is where Ladakh shifts into cold desert scenery, with sand dunes, Bactrian camels, river flats, and villages set below dramatic mountains. The route usually crosses Khardung La before descending toward Diskit, Hunder, Sumur, and Panamik. Travellers come for the contrast: monastery viewpoints above the valley, camel rides on pale dunes, clear night skies, and the meeting of green village patches with barren slopes. It is one of Ladakh's most memorable overnight journeys after acclimatising in Leh.
